Presented on The Anna McCowan-Johnson Stage in the Betty Oliphant Theatre, 404 Jarvis St, Toronto
Since 1959, Spring Showcase has been a treasured tradition, offering a glimpse into the extraordinary talent of ß\²Ê’ Professional Ballet Program students. This annual celebration brings ballet’s rich legacy to life—blending classical masterpieces with bold contemporary works, all performed by the next generation of dance artists.
This year’s program features an exciting repertoire that bridges past and present:
Haieff Divertimento – A rarely seen George Balanchine work, staged by Kathleen Tracey-Zicht repertory director, New York City Ballet, and repetiteur George Balanchine Trust.
Eshi – A world premiere by Esie Mensah created specifically for ß\²Ê’ Professional Ballet students. Co-commissioned by Canada's National Ballet School and Fall for Dance North.
Napoli: Pas de Six & Tarantella – Excerpts from August Bournonville’s iconic ballet Napoli, staged by world-renowned Bournonville expert Petrusjka Broholm.
